Heritage FUN sale prices realized top $6 million plateau

The Bass-Dannreuther 6 variety (Early U.S. Gold Coin Varieties: A Study of Die States, 1795-1834 by Harry W. Bass Jr. and John W. Dannreuther) was one of 2,067 lots of United States coins offered July 8 and 9 at public auction in Orlando, Fla., by Dallas-based Heritage Numismatic Auctions.

The gold eagle is graded About Uncirculated 53 by Numismatic Guaranty Corp.

The auction was held in conjunction with the Florida United Numismatists summer convention.

Total prices realized, which includes the 15 percent buyer's fee added to the final closing price of each lot won, reached $6,015.390.15. Of the total lots offered, 90.1 percent was reported sold.
